What to Expect in a Child ADHD Assessment?
We strive to make the assessment journey as clear and supportive as possible.
Step 1: Pre-Assessment Screening (parents & school input)
After booking, we send screening questionnaires to parents or caregivers. With consent, we’ll also gather information from teachers, SENCOs or other relevant professionals who knows your child well. These insights are crucial in understanding how your child functions across different settings.
Step 2: Pre-Assessment Consultation (60 minutes)
We meet with parents, carers and/or the child or young person where appropriate for a 60-minute session to explore their strengths, difficulties and explore other relevant information. This helps us determine whether a full private ADHD diagnostic assessment is warranted.
Step 3: Diagnostic Interview (Young DIVA — child specific)
We use the Young DIVA to explore your child’s experiences across home, school, and social settings. Depending on age and presentation, we may also speak with the young person directly where appropriate.
Step 4: Feedback Session (with parents, carers and/or child)
Following the assessment, we’ll meet with parents, carers and/or the young person to go through the results, provide clarity around diagnosis (if given) and offer tailored recommendations for home, school,. well-being and relationships.
Step 5: Outcome Letter & Final Report (school guidance included)
You’ll receive a summary letter shortly after your feedback session. A full diagnostic report follows within 4–8 weeks, including clear recommendations for home and school environments, and if needed, guidance for EHCP applications or other educational pathways.

Our child ADHD assessments always consider your child’s world across home, school and social settings - because ADHD symptoms show up differently depending on the environment.
Post-Diagnostic Support
We offer ongoing psychological support for families and children following diagnosis — whether that’s understanding ADHD, working on emotional regulation or navigating education systems.
